What Causes Foul Discharge From The Bruised Finger From An Injury?
I smashed my finger in a car door, and it got extremely swollen. it got all black/dark blue, and i put a hot needle in my finger at the beginning of this thing happening to remove blood/pressure, and it felt a lot better. it slowly started to heal, and this morning i woke up and i was able to push almost all of the stuff out of it so it looks normal, but it has started to smell awful this morning and i was wondering why
Since you have history of injuring your finger in a car door and now you are getting foul discharge from your finger, you are suggested to visit ER, get it cleaned and get antiseptic dressing done. You should take tetanus injection to avoid complications. If your finger is infected, you will need to take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin (or Ampilox-combination of Ampicillin and Cloxacillin) and analgesic (Acetaminophen) for better and faster healing. Protect your finger from getting infected. Keep it dry. Avoid scratching or touching it. Cut of sugar and carbohydrates for faster healing.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
