What Causes Foul Odor In Genitals And Underarms?

Hi I have had nexplanon for 2 years now and about a month ago I started to have a foul smell. I wash daily and have even changed soaps. Not only have i noticed a foul smell down there, my underarms also have a foul odor. I have tried many deodorants and nothing is working. Also, I have never had acne bad, and now my face is covered.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Body odor is mainly caused by bacteria which accumulates in sweat rather than sweat secretion. Skin infections such as bacterial or viral infections should be ruled out. I would suggest the use of antibiotics to reduce the microbial growth. Vaginal smear should be taken to rule out any infections. Antibiotic treatment and maintenance of vaginal hygiene is essential for early recovery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
