Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello , I got crown week ago , and now there is very bad smell from there, I went to doctor again he made x-ray and said everything is good there , he made me extra cleaning , but its still smells very bad in gums around crown. What can be reason of it?
As per your complain, if there is very bad smell around the crown then it can be probably due to food accumulation around and under the crown which gradually gets rotten..
It causes severe bad smell and occurs commonly due to ill fitting margins of the crown..
I would suggest you to consult a Prosthodontist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation has to be done..
In case if crown has a poor fit replacing the crown will help.. In case if it is not taken care of then it can decay the tooth and can waste the entire treatment..
Hope this helps..
Regards
