What Causes Foul Smelling Dark Brown Vaginal Discharge?

I had the copper iud inserted 4 months ago. This past month I have had a lot of dark brown foul (not fishy) smelling discharge. No cramps or signs of infection I.e itching/burning and am in a monogamous relationship. I'm wondering why this could be happening an what I should do.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely Bacterial vaginosis. Because you are havind IUD it is better to have a consultation with gynecologist and do an ultrasound if needed as pelvic inflammatory disease is possible. For bacterial vaginosis i treat my patients with suppositories of clindamycin or metronidazole with combination of clotrimazole.I also recommend them to use intimate wash regularly to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH and there by prevent from getting further infections.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
I find this answer helpful
