What Causes Foul Smelling Motion With Mucus In A 1.5 Year Old?

My baby is 1.5 yrs old n she is having motions n fever with cough i took her to the gp n she has given her paracetamol n rehydration shachet nothing else but i m worried because she is not taking rehydration shachet but i m giving her normal water n milk n her fever is under control but the thing is she is having smelly motions with mucus what should i do plz help

Hello,

If she is not taking oral rehydration. Give her normal boiled &cooled water with 1/4th spoon sugar &a pinch of common salt to a glass of water.

Breast milk can be given or give diluted milk with a bit of sugar for feeding. Mostly she would improve on a couple of days.

If not, you have to watch for signs of dehydration(dry mouth,sunken eyes,wrinkles on body or depressed anterior frontanele). If observed so baby needs IV fluids. Take her to ER.
