What Causes Foul Smelling Periods While On Contraceptives?

Hello,A few months ago, after getting off birth control, I realized that my period started to have a smell to it. It actually smells like I farted and I have no idea why that is. My period is pretty normal, normal color, normal cycle. It s just that it really smell like farts and I m not sure why. Please help!

I can understand your concern.
Foul smelling menstrual discharge is commonly seen with vaginal and cervical infection.
Hormonal contraceptive pills can cause infection by decreasing local vaginal defense.
So better to consult gynecologist and get done clinical examination of vagina and microscopic examination of discharge.
You will need antibiotic cream and oral drugs for recovery.
Wash your genital area with warm water and betadine. Avoid perspiration and moisture in private parts.
Keep proper hygiene of private parts. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
