What Causes Foul Smelling Urine When Suffering From Cystitis?
I was recently diagnosed with IC Cysitis and have been on a couple different medications for it. The medications don t really help and I have had constant excruciating pain because of this issue. Now the pain is starting to travel up into my side and my urine smells like a sewer. What could really be causing all of this and what is the next step since medications aren t working? Also, with the pain moving into my side, does that mean that my condition is getting worse?

Cystitis if not treated well and early can result in an ascending infection that can affect higher places in the urinary tree.Foul smelling urine could be do to the drugs you are taking or a worsening infection if the germ causing it is not sensitive to the antibiotic you are taking.I advice you go for a urine culture and sensitivity test as early as possible.In the mean time, pain/anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen can help reduce your pain.
