What Causes Frequent Bowel Movement And Rashes On Leg In A Child?

My one year old daughter has pooped 6 times today and it appears her stomache may hurt because she makes faces. It s not runny poop but very soft. She also has a rash on her legs. Her left leg more so then the right one. What could be wrong. She hasn t had anything different in her diet. The only thing is we started giving her formula again after she was already started on soy milk a month ago because we ran out of the soy milk. Could this be it?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Diarrhea accompanied by rashes on legs could be due to viral infection.
Virus can cause infection of the gastrointestinal tract as well as rashes on legs.
Thus, you need to consult your pediatrician for supportive treatment.
In the meanwhile, you need to give ORS and light food regularly to prevent dehydration.
Frequent diarrhea can lead to dehydration due to fluid loss.

Thanks and take care
