What Causes Frequent Bowel Movements And Green Stool While On Augmentin?

I have a chest infection and been prescribed with augmentin 650 mg for 2 weeks .. i have been taking it since 4 days now. I have been passing stool as normal since this morning but i just had 2 bowel movements within 2-3hrs gap and the poop was a bit like broken solids not really motion but feels like it. The color of the poop is green. Is it ok or do i need to rush to hospital?

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

Augmentin has a side effect of causing gastro entrological disturbances, it can cause diarrhea or malformation of stools some times like you are having there is nothing to worry if this happens once or twice, malformed stools can look greenish I would advice you not to panic and look closely on your stool habits if they get worsened then you can get a checkup if they get better then you do not need to visit the doctor.Till then take ample fluids. Increase fiber intake thorugh diet.
