General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear patient, welcome to HealthCareMagic.
Thanks for your concern about your health.

The fact is that rectogesic ointment contains Glyceryl Tri-Nitrate, which
causes the anal fissures to relax, and thus provides relief. However,
Rectogesic is designed and meant to be used for a maximum of 8 weeks
only. Rectogesic ointment contains hard and soft paraffin that are laxatives
by themselves. thus long term use of this ointment can lead to frequent passage of stools, in the frequency of 7-8 times a day or more as you have
described.

Dear patient, please see a surgeon, as regards evaluating your anal
fissures, and probably requesting a change of ointment.
This will definitely stop the excess stool passage.

Otherwise, you are quite fine.
Please follow the instructions and take care of your health.
I hope this helps you.
