What Causes Frequent Bowels And Urination Post Choleocystectomy?

Hi I had my gallbladder removed a month ago and when I eat fatty food I have to go to the toilet a lot but have noticed the need to urinate a huge amount as well. Is this my bodies way of getting rid of the fat. I m sitting here with a sick bowl as I have been retching too.

Hi I have gone through your query...

See as gall bladder removed normal bile reservoir gall bladder is not there ....
Affect its enterohepatic circulation...
So leakage of bile over stomach or persistent stone can lead post cholecystectomy syndrome in which diarrhea like symptoms present....

After cholecystectomy in 10 % pateint such symptom can remain for few moth.
Cholestyramin and antispasmodic drug helpful...

Avoid fatty foods as gall bladder no more there....

Nowadays if no improvemet surgeon usually do endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancretography which is diagnostic and thetapeutic as well....

Consult gastroentetologist for more work up and detail examination....

Take care.
