General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I am of the opinion that its kind of some inflammation in your throat. So I would suggest Taking codeine syrup. If you have any associated fever then it should raise an alarm for infection. So your doctor should advise Amoxyclav and paracetamol tablets. Smoking as an habit is very detrimental to this condition, so should be avoided.

Thank you for the query. Hope this clarifies your concerns.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
