What Causes Frequent Irritation In The Throat?

I m clearing my throat all the time. It s worse in the morning and air conditioning seems to add to the problem. I do a little singing and I have to stop this or at the very least reduce it because it s hard to get through a song with a clear throat. I m a 64-year-old female, 5 8 , 168 lbs.

Hi,

As per your query you have symptoms of frequent irritation in the throat which is due to a condition known as allergic rhinitis.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you avoid exposure to an allergen such as dust, cold drinks, ice creams. You should take a combination of montelukast+cetirizine. You should use fluticasone nasal spray. If symptoms keep on persisting you should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. The doctor may also refer you to a pulmonologist for a lung infection. You should take steam inhalation. Do gargle with warm saline rinses. You can also soothe your throat by lozenges and boost your immunity by taking multivitamins in the diet.
