What Causes Frequent Periods And Stomach Cramps?

I had a period on July 18 that lasted about 5 days. Then I started another period on August 1. This is very irregular for me. (Usually my periods are about a month apart) I ve been having cramping and bright red blood with a heavy flow. Should I go get an appt or just wait it out?
