What Causes Frequent Recurring Pressure In The Vagina During Late Pregnancy?

Hi I am 37 weeks pregnant with an est due date of Dec 15 last week I was 4 centimeters dilated and 60% effaced. Today I started experiencing extreme pressure in my vagina, contractions (tummy balling/hardening) SOME WITHOUT pain/discomfort, we ve been monitoring for 2 hours now their comings, goings, & how long they last. They are a consistent 5 minutes apart & last me 45-60 seconds. ?

Hi,

I understand your concern. Completion of 37 weeks should be fair enough to go in for delivery, provided the growth of the baby is optimum. From your description, it appears that the labor process has begun as the cervix seems to dilated and effaced. Discomfort what you are having in the vagina is due to initiation of labor caused by pressure and contractions, which would subside gradually as the delivery process sets in and the labor progresses. Kindly take the assistance of a hospital and doctor for the smooth conduct of the labor process.
