What Causes Frequent Scalp Infections Along With Itching?

Hello Doctor, My son is getting frequent scalp ( top centre ) infection and complains of itching. When I see with naked eye I dont find any difference except that there is a slight swelling which I could sense with my finger. Also I have noted after dinner everyday he complains itching there. Iam not sure what is this and when he was born he had infection in the same place and doctor gave him candiderma cream.After 6-7 years he has this problem again. Pls suggest

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern for your son.
From the complaints you have posted, it appears that your son has contacted with 'Seborrheic Dermatitis' of scalp.
Kindly use shampoo that contains more than one of these key ingredients:
Coal tar, Ketoconazole, Salicylic acid, Selenium sulfide and Zinc pyrithione.
Use it twice a week for a month and gradually taper it off.
That should help him to overcome his problems of the scalp.
