Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Sharp Pain In Middle Of Chest?
Pain in the right center of my chest. It does not hurt at touch. It does hurt when I laugh, cough, or blow my nose. Also, I am having a sudden shooting pain in that area periodically throughout the day. This is the second day I ve been suffering from this.
As per your query you have chest pain specially when I laugh, cough, or blow nose . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms can occur due two reasons :-
- Firstly it can be due to acid reflux disease , which occur due to dysfunction of esophageal sphincter . It allow the acidic content to come upward .
I would like to suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ECG , TMT , complete blood profile and sometimes angiography . Doctor may prescribe betablockers and calcium channel blockers along with nitroglycerine . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist if the problem is related to acid reflux . For now avoid eating spicy and heavy food , do not exert your body and take proper rest .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
