What Causes Frequent Sharp Pain In The Heel?

I have frequent pain in my left heel. Often feels like I am stepping on a nail. Other times no pain at all. Sometimes cannot even put weight on it. Thought it might be a bone spur? Could it be arthritis in my heel? Very different from plantar fasciitis which I have had in my right foot. Your thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to Achilles tendonitis.
I sugegst using anti inflamamtory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day to releive the pain.
I also suggest using cold compresses for local application and use ocmfortable shoes.
If the symptoms continue, you should see an orthopedist for further evalaution and treatment.

Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
