What Causes Frequent Thirst?

I HAVE BEEN EXTREMLY THIRTSY DRINKING 10-15 BOTTLES A DAY WITH TERRIBLE HEADACHES. IVE BEEN TESTED FOR DIABETES, HAD LABS DRAWN TO CHECK FOR PITUIATARY PROBLEMS,A MRI OF BRIAN AND SINUSES .ALL HAVE BEEN NORMAL. WHAT IS CAUSING MY THIRST ?CAN IT REALLY BE FROM STRESS ?????

This is known as polydipsia. This condition may be primary psychogenic or secondary to numerous metabolic disorders, commonest being diabetes insipidus and diabetes mellitus. You need to check 24 hr urine vol, urine and plasma osmolality, serum electrolytes, urine specific gravity tests and routine blood examinations. Consult an endocrinologist for further work up.
