What Causes Frequent Urination And Vaginal Spotting?

Hi, my boyfriend and I just had sex yesterday. Now I m feeling discomfort and constantly feeling like I need to urinate. Everytime I do and wipe my vagina with a tissue I see small amount of blood. I would like to know what caused this and what to do to lessen the discomfort

Hello,

Local trauma and irritation can explain your symptoms.

Please avoid vaginal douching and make sure you drink plenty of fluids and avoid intercourse until you have a visit with your doctor.

It would be better to have a gynaecological examination and a urinalysis to make sure it is just that.

If you are over 21 years of age and/or have not had a pap smear in the last 3 years you might need to have it as a general recommended test and which also check for problems in your cervix.

Your doctor might also decide to ask for a pregnancy test and take swabs to rule out a sexually transmitted disease like chlamydia and gonorrhoea.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
