What Causes Frequent Urination In A Child?

My 7 yr old boys complains of having the urge to pee at night. He will fall asleep and then wake up complaining he needs to pee. So he does and then goes back to bed, only to say he feels like he needs to pee again. Trying to figure out if this is psychological or physical. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a pediatric surgeon and get evaluated. An ultrasound abdomen and urine routine test has to be done. Cystitis and congenital problems of the bladder and kidneys are possible causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
