What Causes Frequent Urination While On Tolvat And Salt Capsules?

My mother has less sodium (129) age 75 yr; doctor suggested to take Tolvat 15mg and twice day Salt capsules for one week. This is causing frequent urine (6 to 7 times) in midnight, sometime 4 to 5 time in an hour in mid night. Is this symptom due to extra salt capsules in take or due to medicine ?

Hi,

Tolvat is a brand name of Tolcaptone and frequent urination is a side effect of this drug. In fact it retain more sodium and secrete water outside. Nothing much to worry and the symptoms will settle once you stop taking Tolvat.
