What Causes Frostnips On Feet Fingers With Painful Itching In A Child?

Sir, i am from Kashmir (India). In every winter my eight yrs child develope frostnips on feet fingers with painful itching at bed time. The itching worsen during the day even in the socks and boots. The itching problem is with her in every winter on same fingers. As soon as we start warming her feet, the itching worsen more, compels us to expose he frost nipped area to the cold again, till she sleeps. There is no sore but some redness. (Present temp here is minus 2/minus 6). Please help us to cure he. Thankz ( YYYY@YYYY )

In my opinion you should not expose your daughters finger to the cold.

Cold causes blood vessels to constricts, resulting in release if platelets. Once you heat it up it causes further release of platelets and itching.

The cure for this problem is to prevent it from the cold. If your daughters feet do not expose to cold such problem never happens.

You can keep it worm with the help of hot atmosphere like room heater.

You can give her cetrizine to prevent itching under your doctors guidance.
