What Causes Gagging And Coughing?

throughout the day, the longer I am upright, sitting or standing, I tend to gag, mostly after eating, but most times with little food at all, I gag and have these loud coughs similar to dry heaving and lots of saliva comes out of my mouth, but when I get to put my feet up and recline, the symptoms go away.

Gagging and coughing problem may be because of gastroesophageal reflux or respiratory tract infection.

In GERD lower esophageal sphincter problem lead to gagging .
Consult a doctor for clinical examination and further investigation.
Endoscopy examination for further diagnosis.
