Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
As per your query gagging while brushing which started just two weeks ago can be due to either
allergic reaction to toothpaste if you have taken any new or can also be due to intake of any medications which you have started recently that can make the soft
palate and the upper digestive tract sensitive and causes gagging on slight stimulation..
At times it can also occur if you have congestion in nose and upper
respiratory tract infection and as while brushing
mouth breathing is stopped and nose is congested can case gagging reflex..
Pooling too much foam in mouth and not spitting frequently can also be a cause..
You should continue your brushing and brush the area for ten seconds where you gag the most and do it on daily basis and gradually gagging will reduce..
Apply lignocaine gel over the palate as it will numb the area and prevent gag reflex..
If there is any underlying cause like congestion or medication correction of the same will help..
While bruising keep moving the fingers of your feet and clench tight the fingers of your hands as it will divert your mind and reduce gag..
Deep breathing through nose will help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
