What Causes Ganglion And Sensitivity In Neck?

my husband has a very swollen left foot, was treated for gout, also given warfarin because he had pulmonary embolism. Xray revealed no broken bones in his foot but he has felt sensitivity in his neck and echography revealed a ganglion. Whats going on?
