What Causes Gasping Of Air While On Carvedilol Post Gastric Heart Bypass Surgery?

I had quadruple bypass 7 weeks ago. I still experience gasping for breath. It happens just all of a sudden, even when I am not active or thinking about it. I still seem a little short of breath also. I am female, and 65 years old. I am also taking Carvedilol 3.125 mg 2x a day. Could this be a side effect of the drug or the surgery

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the history of cardiac disease and the present symptom is dyspnea then it need to be ruled out for cardiac event and for that you have to get done EKG and ECHO and angiography without this cardiac even can not be excluded, if this is not the cardiac problem then it could be due to allergic condition, anemia, anxiety hope this information helps.
