General & Family Physician 's  Response
After eating, the body has to process and digest the food taken in. Hence, after a meal, the major portion of blood flow gets channeled to the intestines and in the process the blood flow to the brain gets reduced. This reduction in the blood flow to the brain is responsible for our feeling sleepy and giddy after taking food. There is nothing wrong with you. You simply need to frequent but small meals and avoid big amounts of food at a time. Regular and proper exercise will also help.
