Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Gluteal Muscle Pain Post Hip Reconstruction Surgery?
I am experiencing severe right glute pain, am almost 10 months post-op on a right hip reconstruction. I ve had four arthroscopic surgeries total, two on each side dating back to 2008. I ve tried PT, injections, ice, NSAIDs, ect. The pain is still horrible even at rest. What might be causing it? We just tried a SI injection which provided no relief.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
It seems to be neurogenic pain. Please consult a neurophysician. After confirming the cause with MRI, he would advise for medicines / physiotherapy / or surgery to relieve nerve pressure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
