What Causes Gout In Big Toe And Redness In Lower Leg?

In have gout in my big toe, today my lower leg has turned red bull t not flaming red. 19 years ago I had a broken leg and the bone had to rebuild in that spot. It turned red there and then continued on the front of my shin. No pain there but pain in my toe.

Hi.

If you are sure the gout is causing this then you need to do 2 things:

1. Start your gout medication if you have not already done so, or if you are already on the medication then a change in the dosage may be in order (e.g. allopurinol)

2.A change in your diet is most mandatory and very very important and is most probably the cause for the aggravated episode, so please meet a nutritionist and make the required changes (mostly exclusions in your diet).

Best wishes.
