What Causes Gravelly Voice And Mucus In Throat After Using Fluticasone Nasal Spray?
My husband has recently started taking fluticasone nasal spray and has developed a more pronounced gravelly voice along with needing to clear his throat more often when speaking. He has also started noticing a change of cloudiness in his eyes. Is this coming from the use of the nasal spray?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of gravelly voice and mucus in throat after using Fluticasone nasal spray which is due to generic nature of product as some people gets difficulty using generic medications and brand one is preferred for them.
Need not to worry. You should avoid prolonged use as you will have dependency on it. I would suggest you to take steam 2-3 times a day to relieve congestion, drink plenty of fluid and do warm saline gargles. You should take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may order blood test or get paranasal sinus X-ray done. He/ she may prescribe antibiotics course nasal corticosteroids, antihistamines and decongestant. You should take cough expectorants as well. Avoid intake of hot and spicy food. Avoid cold carbonated beverages.
