Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of gray lumps on tongue with difficulty in swallowing which could be due to inflamed subepithelial lymphoid tissues . If there are inflammed sub epithelial tissue present along with tonsil enlargement it indicates bacterial infection . The infection of oral cavity like gum infection , tongue infection or tooth infection make these tissues inflamed. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult dentist/ oral pathologist for proper examination and to rule out upper respiratory infection . Doctor may examine oral cavity physically and may prescribe antibiotics for infection. For now do betadine rinses and gargles. You should maintain complete hygiene. You should take plenty of fluids as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
