Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was in the ed a couple of weeks ago. I havent been feeling well. Had a sharp pain in my right side. They informed me that i hace a kidney stone. Put on pain meds and something to help me pass it. Dont know i have yet. Tonight i noticed i have green poop. What is causing this? I have an appointment with an urologist tomorrow.
* As per my clinical experience, the green bowel movement indicates
@ intestine infection
@ side effect of certain antibiotic or analgesic on gut flora with secondary changes
@ alteration in bile drainage system or bile salt formation
* It may be possible to co relate both episodes of renal colic and green stool in that direction of malabsoption phenomenon through gut with altered homeostasis of calcium and phosphate to cause stone formation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
