Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Green Bowel Movements While Suffering From IBS?
I have had stomach issues for the last 3-4 years. I have known IBS that has not gotten any better or worse with medication. I cut out gluten because that seemed to help. However I am still getting frequent stomach aches and irregular bowel movements. Lately they have been army green in color and the urgency of when I have to go has increased. I have also felt more lethargic lately. What could this be other than IBS?
This is typical IBS symptoms. The greenish stools are as a result of poor digestion and enriched fiber diet.
You can use Simethicone or Loperamide to help with bloating and diarrhoea. Also, use prebiotics, such as Enterogermina to establish the intestinal flora. You can lower the fiber intake with your diet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
