What Causes Green Colored Phlegm?

Hi I have been clearing my throat a lot in the last year and now I cough up a green mucus ball every morning after breakfast and several times during the day espacially about 10 minutes after eating...I do not really have a sore throat and I do not blow my nose a lot either...At the base of my throat it feels a bit dry ..I tried saline but it does not seem to make a difference...and I do not beleive it is acid reflux ...What should I do about this and what could it be.? Thank you

Hello,

If you are having a cough with expectoration, it is advisable that you get a sputum examination done as soon as possible as it seems like a bacterial infection.

You need to take an antibiotic course for a few days depending upon your report.

You should also get a chest X-ray done. Consult a physician regarding the same. I hope that answers your question.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
