What Causes Green Colored Stool In An Infant?

my son is 8 week old and only breastfed. From Yesterday morning he had been passing green mucus in stool . Initially he had passed a little more watery stool than usual followed with mucus. Later the frequency increased to 2 stools(with green mucus) in an hour. It seems that he had food allergy since I had some dairy and spicy food products which might have caused this.we consulted the doctor who gave Walamycin medicine 2.5ml for 3times a day along with Pro-well 2.5 ml twice. We had given him 3 doses of Walamycin so far and 2 dose of Prowel(that is for one day). the green color in stool faded however little mucus still present. Please let me know is it advisable to continue the antibiotic or can stop since it was a food allergy.

it can be bacillary dysentry, or taking green soup or vegitable soup, get the infants stool examined. the report will be self explanatory. if normal then nothing to worry. continue normal feeding and mantain hydration. you have already started antibiotic it is in tomuch hurry. who recomandation is against any medication and normal food to be continued. hydration is to be continued. soon the child will be normal.
