What Causes Green Discolouration In The Stool In An Infant?

Hello Doctor, my baby is 3 month old & is exclusively breast fed. Her stool is green in color almost every time. We came from India to other country when she was 6 weeks old & from then I m observing this. Is there anything to be worried about? Here I m drinking powdered tetra pack milk..can that be the reason,pls reply me

Hello,

The symptoms are consistent with gastroenteritis. It is quite common among infants and most cases settle by itself. A stool routine investigation is also required. In severe cases antibiotics must be started.
