What Causes Green Smelly Discharge And Pressure In The Ear?

I have had a green smelly discharge from my right ear for some time now and when it is not draining there it feels like I get a heavy pressure and sometimes a migraine and it will find a new path through the roof of my mouth to come out . I used to be a meth addict and my teeth are in horrible shape broken and decaying what can I do to stop this that isn t going to cost me alot of money I dont have insurance

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of green smelly discharge and pressure in the ear. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like ear infection , wax buildup or acoustic neuroma ,but in your case the symptoms are probably due to eustachian tube dysfunction.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ET specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan along with endoscopy . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like gentamycin , decongestant and expectorant.

For now do warm saline gargles several times a day and apply dry warm compresses to external ear . Doctor may also give tubes in ear to relieve the pressure.

Avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object.
