What Causes Greenish Brown Discharge From Skin?

Odd greenish brownish grass like things coming out of itchy skin down there. Like teeny tiny blades of grass. The skin itches, is scratched, then boom grass blade thing, then skin welts up, only if you scratch the itch and grass like thing comes out of the skin. What is it?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Green brown discharge from skin may be in relation with subcutaneous infection or inflammation with organism producing green pigments as pyocyanin or others. The usual causative organism is Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, however there can be different reasons for the same. In my clinic, after clinical examination, I recommend a culture swab report for the sensitivity pattern and best management can be figured out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
