What Causes Greenish To Blackish Discoloration On Proximal Part Of The Nail?

25 years old, male Greenish to blackish discolouration on the proximal part of the nail of the right middle finger. Painless. First noticed about 2 weeks ago. Nail has started deforming with formation of depression. What is the likely etiology and management??

Hi

Development of discolouration over the nail can occur due to various reasons.
Fungal infections of the nail is the most important cause although other autoimmune cause can also cause such a presentation.
Since you are also developing a nail deformity,it is important that you see a nearby doctor for proper assessment and treatment.
