General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms you are experiencing could be related to the ovarian cyst, but there may be other underlying causes as well. The groin pain could be caused by the pressure from the cyst, or it could be a result of a muscle strain or other injury. The swelling in the left abdomen could be due to fluid accumulation or inflammation in that area.

It is important to see a healthcare provider for a proper evaluation and diagnosis. In the meantime, you may try some home remedies to alleviate the pain and discomfort such as applying a warm compress to the affected area, taking over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen, and avoiding strenuous activities. If the pain becomes severe or you develop other symptoms such as fever, nausea, or vomiting, seek medical attention right away.
