What Causes Growing Itchy Bite Mark On The Back Of The Leg?

Hi Dr Rynne, I have what I believe to be bite, on the back of my leg. It started itching a little last night, I went to bed. It woke me up once still itching, but I went back to sleep. This AM, it is raised, and hard, about the size of a golf ball. It has continued to increase in size over the last 6 hrs, it is now larger than a baseball and is wrapping to the front of my leg. It is still hard, red, itchy and warm.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the suspected insect bite, so try "Calamine lotion" but important is to take care of infection keep the condition under observation if found infection then antibiotic may required, but important is to confirm the condition for swelling Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg three times in day, hope this information helps.
