What Causes Hair Fall While Weaning Off Inderal?

Hi, my doctor is weaning me of Inderal, which I have been taken for 30 years for migraines, I no longer have migraines, but My hair is falling out, I am 77 years old, he is putting me on Lisinopril, and I am also on Amlodipine Besylate for blood pressure, do you think this is the way to go.

Hi,

Yes if you have no more migraine then it's right to wean off Inderal and start lisinopril.

The reason is that recent studies have shown much more advantages of treating BP with lisinopril ( ACEI) than Inderal (beta blockers ). So its not a bad idea to be on lisinopril.

I don't think that weaning off Inderal has anything to do with your hair fall.

I would advise taking multivitamins containing zink (like surbex z )for hair fall.

If that does not work, you may see your dermatologist for proper assessment and management of the hair fall.
