Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In my sixties, have had rapid hair loss, am onmy way to see my Dr, but with the recent changes in plans have not been able to see my doc. Other symptoms from he neck pn up, loss of saliva on my left side, my right side has slowed down also. Sinus problems of which I've have had all my Life have actually dried-up. Something is seriously wrong.
As per your query you are having hair loss and excessive salivation which could be due to oral infection, improper hygiene and thyroid dysfunction. The are conditions like gingivitis, infection of salivary glands and side effects of certain medicines which can also cause such symptoms . The probable cause for hair loss is hormonal changes or side effects of certain medicine. I would suggest you to consult dentist for proper examination and start treatment as per diagnosis . Doctor will examine physically and perform oral prophylaxis. Doctor may refer you to gastroenterologist. Take antisialogogues and now maintain proper oral hygiene and avoid eating spicy and heavy food . Consult trichologist for hair loss . Doctor may prescribe fincepia along with minoxidil.
Hope your concern has been solved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
