What Causes Hair Thinning And Scalp Dryness While Having Unspecified Hypothyroidism?

I went for my yearly check-up today for my Hashimoto a Thyroiditis and Chronic Lymphocytic Thyroditis and I am very confused about my diagnosis. Also, noted that I have an unspecified hypothyroidism. I do not have any of the symptoms. My nodules have gotten larger and the thyroid gland has also enlarged, but my doctor reduced my synthroid medication by one quarter. My weight and vitals are perfect. The only thing I have really noticed is terrible hair thinning and dryness. Can you explain a little more about this disease

* The hypothyroidism of Hashimoto and Lymphocytic variant indicates auto immune response to possible viral infection or unspecified etiology via development of auto antibodies in the blood.

* Thinning of hair, dry course skin, pretibial myxedema are all associated sequences of the disorder. Guidelines for hair problem

- control of thyroid levels
- supplements of zinc, copper, magnesium, vitamins
- capsule of anti oxidant properties
- local application of Minoxidil solution
- regular follow up with your doc.
