Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
im not sure what is my problem. Everytime in public, people around me is covering their nose or holding breath. Some was moving away from me. My feeling tells me that i have bad breath smell. But i cant believe i have bad breath smell. I brushes at least twice a day. I also use mouthwash twice a day. I drink water a lot. But the people around still feel uncomfortable. Is the smell from my mouth or my nose?
Halitosis can occur due to bad oral hygiene, improper brushing, left over food particles remaining between teeth, dry mouth, use of tobacco products, smoking, chewing tobacco and other ingredients containing products. Plus periodontal (gum) related diseases, sinus infections, bronchiectasis (chronic lung disease with pus containing sputum) etc.
So it is better if you visit a dental surgeon, seek his/her opinion and based on his guidance further treatment may be taken. To keep mouth clean apart from brushing twice a day, it is essential to do dental flossing also. Plus use anti-bacterial mouth wash (chlorhexidine containing). Also check if you have diabetes as that can also lead to bad breath.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar
