What Causes Hallucinations After Using Cannabis Oil?
Hi, my son has Lenox-Gateau Epilepsy. He does have a neurologist (Dr. Ko), out of USC Keck Hospital. My son currently uses Fycompa, Onfi, Felbamate and cannabus oil. We took him into see our outstanding neurologist who recommended we ween him off of cannabus oil because he was having hallucinations. The hallucinations have continued even after weening him off of the oil (1.5 weeks), but my wife and I are not certain the hallucinations are being caused by cannabus. He has never had hallucinations until recently and had been taking the cannabus oil for 3 years. He is 22 years old. Any suggestions, thoughts, or recommendations? Sincerely, Craig Gunter

Your son has a history of epilepsy, the treating neurologist has prescribed Fycomba(to treat seizures & epilepsy), Onfi(a class of benzodiazepines to control seizures), Felbamate (anti-convulsant, an anti-epilepsy medicine).
Give the medicines as prescribed to your son. Help him get treated for epilepsy.
The treating doctor has asked to wean Cannabis oil because your son is already being treated for his symptoms.
Cannabis oil causes an altered state of consciousness, may cause the distorted perception of time & space, impaired coordination or concentration & may cause hallucinations. Do not let hallucinations get complicated to Schizophrenia.
Weaning should always be done in a detox center to manage & treat the withdrawal symptoms urgently for successful weaning.
