What Causes Hallucinations While Treating Clinical Depression?

My exhusband, 72 years, white male, stocky build, disability for 40 years clinical depression (won t take meds and won t see doctor). Hallucinations seem to have started just a couple of months ago.. Sees people in his house and outside. They are being treated in beds in his house, but also come and go and reside in boxes, electrical boxes, compressor. I wonder if it could be LBD with hallucinations.... (my mom had this) , We also discovered black mold below his mobile home trailer. Theoretically, could that cause hallucinations? And can hallucinations stand alone as symptoms without having dementia. He seems alright otherwise, including good short term memory, but cannot get a grip on reality at all regarding all those people living in his house that he wished the police would throw out (won t call the police), any reality question he obviously cannot answer, is explained away, including supernatural . Thanks.
