What Causes Hand Pain After Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Surgery?

i recently did surgery on my hand for carpal tunnel syndrome, but the pains are terrible and especially at nights i have to take something to put me to sleep. the surgery was on the 6th january, should i have not been feeling some sort of relif already?
