Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is in the hospital. Thursday when he got out of bed, he could not stand and walk. He fell twice within an hour. He had very bad hand tremors and could not make a coherent sentence. When he was in the ER he could not stay in a concious state long enough to answer simple questions. The only answer we have been given is that whatever is wrong is neurological. Not a stroke.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The symptoms are suggestive of mini stroke or something called TIA( Transient Ischemic attack). It’s small and transient block in the blood vessels of brain and causing stroke like picture. However we have to rule out certain other conditions which can mimic TIA. Consult and get a detailed evaluation done. He might require an MRI scan to rule out other causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
